Ace Goes to Hell
Here at thelope, we love Halloween with an unholy passion.
Thus, we were most pleased to be directed to the home of Daniel and Marian Goepfert, 2828 South Wall Street in Joplin, Missouri.
Most of the attractions in the Goepfert's yard, like this fog breathing dragon, were built by them.
"Boys and girls of every age, would you like to see something strange?" Jack Skellington rises from a coffin, courtesy of a mechanism from an old hospital bed.
Speaking of Jack (and I often do speak of the beloved "Bone Daddy"), we saw Disney's limited release of "Nightmare Before Christmas" in 3-D the other day. I highly recommend it. This particular 3-D process involves giving the theater patron sturdy plastic polarized glasses, not the usual red/blue cardboard ones. The glasses are so good, that even days after I removed them, I'm still seeing in 3-D. Amazing, huh?
A mechanized spider menaces visitors.
Ya gotta have bats.
Finally - proof that Elvis is dead.
I shot about 20 time exposures of this moving black light ghost. This is my best one.
May you enjoy this season as much as we do.
